National Committee for Combatting Human Trafficking Meets US Embassy Delegation

The National Committee for Combatting  Human Trafficking which is chaired by the undersecretary of Justice Ministry ,Huwaida Ali Awadal-Karim met with a delegation  from  the US embassy in Khartoum in presence of full membership of the  committee.

Huwaida  welcomed  the US embassy delegation  and discussed with  the members of the delegation the recommendations  of the report  conducted by US.

She said that the committee has studied  the report  and made some  observations  and expressed hope that  the embassy  pays concern to  such  observations , affirming keenness of government of Sudan  to cooperate with the US embassy  and   to provide it with the accurate information.

Huwaida  stated that the report came  in exceptional  conditions  as well as response  to the report.

Head of the US embassy delegation , for her part,  underscored the necessity of holding  regular meetings  with the embassy  to display  Sudan’s efforts  on this file, indicating that the issue of human trafficking  requires huge efforts from  the all-state institutions.

She added that the embassy’s work is to assist government of Sudan to combat this phenomenon.

Members of the committee, for their part, underlined importance of regional, international and local partnerships in implementation of  the national plan.
