Hamar and Messairiya Sign Document on Cessation of Hostilities in Abu-Zabad

The Hamar and Messairiya Monday signed in Abu-Zabad town, West Kordofan State, a document on cessation of hostilities between them, in the presence of the security committee of the locality and the good offices’ committee.

The chieftain of Hamar tribe, Ahmed Hassan Adeel, has signed the document on behalf of his tribe and affirmed their commitment to implement its clauses on the ground.

He called on the leadership of Messairiya tribe to do so in order to avoid problems and disputes between the two tribes.

The undersecretary of Messairiya tribe, Mohamed Mahamadiya Al-Bashir, has signed the document on cessation of hostilities on behalf of his tribe.

He said that there have not been hostilities between the Hamar and Messairiya throughout history, stressing their commitment to implementation of the document clauses.

Al-Bashir stated that Abu-Zabad has been a model town for the peaceful co-existence between the different components.

He said that the dispute was aggravated by the negative and the social media.

The document on cessation of hostilities was also signed by the head of the security committee and Executive Director of Abu-Zabad Locality, Ibrahim Yousif Eissa, who called on the two parties to abide by the agreement for ending the crisis and achieving a reconciliation conference to ensure sustainable peace between Messairiya and

Hamar tribes.

He also called for refrain from differences and the speech of hate, and to accept the others, affirmed that the security situation is stable all over Abu-Zabad Locality.
