Political forces and citizens in South Kordofan hail ceasefire extension

Kadugli,  (SUNA) – Political forces, parties, and citizens in South Kordofan State praised the decision of the Abdel-Aziz El-Helou-led SPLM-N on the extension of the ceasefire and hostilities, describing the step as positive and on the right direction.

Sayid Yahya Dabouka, on the coordination of the forces of freedom and change in South Kordofan, said in a poll SUNA conducted Thursday, that the step was successful and serious in the interest of the country and the citizen, praising comrades in the armed struggle movements and the SPLM-N.

Dabouka said that the step would advance the peace process, which is now under way in Juba, and open the door widely for a serious mobility to achieve peace.

The political secretary of the Popular Congress Party (PCP) in South Kordofan Abdel-Aziz Hamra affirmed that the issue of peace was top priority for the party, adding that the achievement of sustainable peace was a required and no return to war, expressing his appreciation for the move of the SPLN-N to extend the ceasefire in order to make the negotiation process a success.

The citizen, Abdal-Rahman Omar al-Khalifa said that El-Helou’s position on extending the ceasefire had made all the citizens happy in South Kordofan.

Musa Elias Mohamed, a merchant in the Kadugli market, pointed out that what El-Helou-led SPLM-N made brought joy to all hearts of the people in South Kordofan, appealing to El-Helou, his companions and the transitional government to be one body and one hand to resolve the cause of peace for the development of the region and Sudan.
