Secretary-General of West Darfur Government Chairs Meeting of UN Organizations

Al Geneina, April 14 (SUNA) – The Secretary-General of the Government of West Darfur State, Al-Hadi Munir Nasser, chaired,  the joint meeting of the United Nations and international organizations working in the humanitarian field, held here yesterday, in the presence of the Governor of the of West Darfur State’s  Advisor for Humanitarian Affairs, Abdul Khaliq Dodain Nasser.

The meeting heard to a briefing delivered by the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in the State, Al-Sadiq Mohamed Ahmed, on the current humanitarian situation in Forbaranga locality, especially after the incidents that took place in the region during the past days.

The organizations, during the meeting,  confirmed their immediate response to provide shelter and food assistances to the affected people in Forbaranga locality next week.

The Secretary General of the of West Darfur State, commended the  organizations for their response to humanitarian issues, stressing his government’s endeavor to close coordination with humanitarian organizations in order to maintain stability in the region.
