Sudan Celebrates International Day of Forests

The  Forests National  Corporation celebrated today  the International Day of Forests 2023 , March 21, whose theme is “Forests and health.”

The Director General of Forests National Corporation (FNC) at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Anwar Abdul-Hamid, said in a statement to SUNA that the celebration of Sudan comes in solidarity with the United Nations on the importance of forests and preservation of the plant cover that benefit human being, besides improving the environment which contributes to stability and human health.

Abdul-Hamid added that the authorities support the role of local communities for protecting trees and raising environmental awareness all over the states of the country.

He affirmed that the corporation seeks to raise the area of forests to 90 million feddans, stressing that the corporation works to fulfill its environmental commitments towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
