Sovereignty Council President affirms role of diplomacy in raising sense of patriotism

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has stressed the need to redouble efforts to raise the national sense and raise the word of Sudan regionally and internationally.

This came when Al-Burhan received in his office today delegation of ambassadors and general directors of departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq.

The President of the Sovereignty Council stressed the importance of activating the role of diplomacy to confront the current challenges facing Sudan and work to reflect the ideal image of Sudan to the outside world and move forward at this stage towards democratic entitlements, especially after the great openness of Sudan and the normalization of its relations with the international community.

For his part, acting Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq said that the meeting touched on the present political challenges and the need to work with international and regional institutions to serve the interests and aspirations of the Sudanese people.

He added that the delegation briefed the President of the Sovereignty Council on the obstacles facing the progress of work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting that Al-Burhan promised to visit the ministry as soon as possible
