Native Administration in Eastern Sudan Declares Reconciliation Initiative

 A number of leaders of the native administration in Eastern Sudan have announced a new initiative called “Reconciliation and Reunification in Eastern Sudan”, which included all the initiatives previously proposed for peace and development in Eastern Sudan.

The chieftain of Shukriya tribe, Ahmed Abu-Sin, said that the initiative includes all initiatives, including the initiative of Sheikh Ali Betay, the initiative of the people of Kassala, and other initiatives.

The chieftain Abu-Sin said in a press conference in the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) forum Wednesday that the most important goals of the initiative are to stop the media escalation, prevent the hate speech, solving the differences between the leaders of the native administration, and the call for renouncing differences to preserve the cohesion and unity of the East, calling on all components and leaders of the native administration and the components of the civil society in Eastern Sudan to hold an inclusive conference.

Abu-Sin explained that the issue of Eastern Sudan is pivotal and cannot be neglected, and the the components of the East have the right to participate and maintain the security of Eastern Sudan.

He pointed to the necessity of adopting the principle of fair distribution of resources in Eastern Sudan, a matter which made them resort to this initiative that the references of which include the East Front Peace Agreement, the East Sudan track agreement, Sinkat, Al-Kuk, the Butana Conference, the Civil Society Components Conference, the Free Butana Forum Conference, the Coordinative Conference of Eastern Sudan.

On his part, the leading figure in Eastern Sudan, Mabrouk Mubarak Salim, stated that the situation in eastern Sudan needs serious solutions and stances, explaining that the reconciliation initiative of the chieftain Abu-Sin and Sheikh Suleiman Betay aims to support coexistence in the East is an appreciated effort to end the dispute in eastern Sudan
