Mineral Sector Presents Investment Opportunities at Conference in Canada

The Sudan’s delegation to participate in the International Mining Exhibition organized by Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), hosted at the economic capital of Canada, Toronto, will present investment opportunities in Sudan.

The Head of the Sudanese Delegation, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Mohamed Saeed Zain Al-Abdden, affirmed that there are enormous mineral resources that could place Sudan in the ranks of developed countries in the field of mining.

He stressed the importance of Sudan’s participation in the exhibition as a good opportunity to promote the extractive industries sector and present investment opportunities in the field of mining,  pointing to the Sudan’s strategic cooperation relations with Canada in the field of economic and technical cooperation.

He explained that the Sudanese delegation will present Sudan’s rich experience in the field of mining industries and activities and investment opportunities available in the sector through its participation in a special pavilion in the exhibition.

The General Director of the Aryab Mining Company, Eng. Nasr Al- Dein Al-Hussein, enumerated the historical contribution of the Sudanese minerals sector through the Aryab Company within the Arab-Nubian Shield project, which includes Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea besides the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Yemen, indicating that the shield has become a focus of the world’s attention after the global scarcity of resources, adding that Aryab Company mediates this shield in an area estimated at more than forty thousand square kilometer.

It is worth noting that the delegation includes, in addition to the Undersecretary of the Ministry, the General Director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, the Director of Aryab Mining Company, and the Director of the Planning, Research and Mineral Economics Department.
