Gulwak: Wide Strides Made in Implementing Juba Peace Agreement

The Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs and head of the Southern mediation, Tut Gulwak, said that wide strides have been made in the implementation of the Juba peace agreement, excluding few points, which he described as “simple things,” referring to the agreement signed by Sudan government and the armed struggle movements at Juba in October last year.

In a statement to SUNA, Gulwak said that they felt during their recent visit to Khartoum a great progress in the process of implementing the Juba Peace Agreement, but he indicated some sub-issues that are still awaiting implementation in reality.

He indicated that the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan has given a directive for opening the border crossings between Sudan and South Sudan State.

He said that Gen. Al-Burhan also gave a directive for the opening of land and air transport and the dry port of Kosti before the trade movement between the two countries, indicating that this step comes with the aim of reactivating the trade movement between the two countries.
