Investment Minister calls on National Businessmen to Contribute in Economic Development

-The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Ahlam Madani Mahdi, has called on national businessmen to contribute effectively to the development of the country’s national economy and nation building.

This came when the Minister paid a visit today to African Agricultural Company based at Samsam Agricultural Rain-Fed Area, south of Al-Gedarif city, within her inspection visit to a number of agricultural investment projects in state, accompanied by the Ministry’s delegation and the Secretary General of Markets and Free Zones, Muntasir Khalid Al-Siddiq.

The Minister and her accompanying delegation have got acquainted on the activity of the African Agricultural Company, particularly on cultivation of several important cash crops such as cotton, soybeans, corn and millet.She noted that she saw on the ground the great effort exerted to establish the African Agricultural Company project, the abundant and distinguished production of crops, and the great economic and social role that these projects are played in development.Meanwhile, the Minister praised the use of the latest modern agricultural techniques at the project in terms of mechanisms and technology, stressing that the ministry is reviewing investment policies and laws continuously, and that the interest of patriotic investor in economic development is highly considered by the Ministry.Furthermore the Minister called for the need to adopt the use of solar energy in the projects of the state as an alternative solution to energy problems. The Company’s Regional Director Othman Yousif affirmed the company’s social responsibility towards the state, and that the project’s workforce is on its way to reach three thousand persons.
