Khaled Omer: constitutional document did not stipulated exclusive affiliation of police and intelligence apparatus

Khartoum,   (SUNA) – The Minister of Cabinet Affairs Khaled Omer Youssif indicated that the statements of the First Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council on affiliation of the Intelligence Service and the police forces to the military, constitute a clear violation of the constitutional document that clearly stipulates in Article 36 that the police are subject to the executive authority, and in Article 37, the intelligence service is subject to the sovereign and executive powers, and it never provides for any exclusive affiliation of the two organs to the military.

On his Facebook page, the Cabinet  minister indicated that the task of developing and reforming the security and military organs is an essential task in determining the success of the civil democratic transition, noting that this statement constitutes a direct threat to the fulfillment of the obligations and tasks of the constitutional document, which we will firmly and seriously confront.
