Government Delegation Studies Proposed Framework Agreement of SPLM – North

The government delegation for the negotiations in Juba, headed by the member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi,  held on Saturday evening a meeting at Pyramid Hotel in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, with the participation of all members of the committees and the experts.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister and spokesman of the government delegation, Khalid Omer Yousif, said that the delegation has engaged in intensive meetings to discuss and study the proposed draft framework agreement, which it received from the mediation and presented by the People’s Movement – North.

He explained that the delegation discussed the draft in preparation for its studying, with the aim of returning to resume the negotiations about it on Monday, affirming the transitional government’s keenness to achieve peace and to engage in the negotiation process with a sincere and strong will for achieving peace and an end to the war.

The spokesperson for the government delegation said that the atmosphere now is positive and there is great optimism that this round will be decisive and will culminate in the conclusion of the framework agreement, so as to be a big step on the way to reaching a comprehensive and sustainable peace agreement with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North
