Dr. Jibril: There must be consensus to form coming government

The head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, said that the time has come to reach a national consensus to form a government that leads the country to free and fair elections, during which the people choose who they trust to lead the country, pointing out that the lack of consensus in the current situation must be dealt with through dialogue, stressing that efforts are underway to gather the largest number of political forces for the sake of political consensus.

Dr. Jibril added during his address today in Khartoum to the leaders of the local and international, private and governmental media, which was organized by the S JEM, as part of the movement’s annual Ramadan communication program, that the low prices of many commodities do not encourage farmers in the future, but there are efforts currently being made to address the current situation.

He denied the existence of a food gap in the country, pointing out that the current supply is more sufficient for the country, stressing the government’s current trend towards digital collection, which contributes to increasing income in a way that achieves the requirements of the economy in the future.

Regarding the current situation, the head of the SJEM stressed that the continuation of any government requires a broader participation of the active forces, indicating: “we have made great concessions for the future of Sudan and a secure achievement, and that all that is required is national consensus and stability.”

Dr. Jibril reaffirmed the movement participation in any dialogue that achieves the consensus on the interest of Sudan, and that efforts must be focused on achieving agreement, adding that security reform is required and that the peace agreement signed in Juba recently was clear on the reform so that the forces become professional and do not interfere in political and stick to it only mission of protecting the homeland from risks, and that the integration of all forces from the Armed Struggle Movements, Rapid Support Forces and others into one force is important, noting out that this issue requires time and money, and that citizens should not worry about the security situation, stressing that the signing of the framework agreement by the Democratic Bloc will be with all its components, and that the negotiation of the final agreement must be equal between the Democratic Bloc and the Forces for Freedom and Change, the Central Council.
