Al-Burhan confirms Sudan’s keenness to implement the green Middle East

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed Sudan’s commitment to the plans and programs of green transformation, and to make Sudan’s potential and its natural resources at the disposal of the green transformation mechanism.

Addressing the activities of the Green Middle East Initiative summit in Sharm El-Sheikh this evening, on the sidelines of the Climate Summit (27), in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, said that green transformation has become a trend today. Globally, and an urgent necessitated by climate change to achieve positive repercussions on the future of the economies of our countries and the well-being of our societies.

The President of the Sovereignty Council stressed that the Green Middle East Initiative, in its previous, current and upcoming version, is the appropriate scientific and practical mechanism for absorbing and addressing the negative effects of climate change, preserving the environment, and addressing soil degradation.

He reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to the programs and projects of this wise initiative, and to harnessing all of Sudan’s natural potentials of land and water to implement the plans and projects of this initiative.

Al-Burhan praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in seriously addressing the effects of climate change in the region.
