President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has affirmed Sudan’s appreciation for the slogan of the current session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Al-Burhan called for more international solidarity and joint multilateral action and activating international cooperation mechanisms to find sustainable solutions to global challenges and reduce their negative effects on the peoples of the world, especially in countries emerging from conflicts and least developed countries.

Addressing the high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly this evening, Al-Burhan said he is pleased to brief the assembly on the political developments in Sudan, expressing his commitment to work to achieve peace and strengthen peaceful transition mechanisms, leading to a full democratic transition through free, fair and transparent elections at the end of the transitional period.

Al-Burhan renewed Sudan’s commitment to cooperate with the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan to support the transitional phase in Sudan in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and its mandate stipulated in the resolution of its formation and the matrix of requirements to support the transition that Sudan handed over to the United Nations.
