Sovereignty Council Directs Committee for Leading Political Dialogue and Consensus to Continue its Work

The Transitional Sovereignty Council Monday held a regular meeting at the Republican Palace, chaired by the council’s President, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan.

The member of the Sovereignty Council and its spokesperson, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar, explained in a press statement that the council has deliberated about the ongoing efforts regarding political consensus among all national components to surpass the political crisis and to avoid the waste of time, under the existence of many initiatives without reaping their fruits for reaching a stable and democratic state that meets the aspirations of the citizens and progress in the country.

She said that the Sovereignty Council has given a directive on the continuation the sovereignty committee, headed by the member of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Aggar, to its work for leading the political accord and dialogue, provided that it shall work according to specific timings and programs to achieve the aspired goals of the dialogue.

Dr. Salma pointed out that the Sovereignty Council indicated that the Council has declared its total rejection to racism in all its forms and its refuse to the hate speech in every form, adding that the Sovereignty Council stressed that the judicial and security

authorities shall expedite the enactment of the laws and legislations that criminalize the practice of racism in its various forms.
