Plane Carrying 30 Tons of Relief Materials From UAE Arrives in Khartoum

Khartoum (SUNA) – A relief plane arrived at Khartoum Airport Saturday 12th September morning from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide the urgent humanitarian needs to the rain and flood-affected people in Sudan.

The plane was carrying 30 tons of food and shelter materials “tents, blankets and tarpaulins” as well as medical and sanitary materials to sanitize the environment which were provided by the UAE Red Crescent, in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the  Representative of the Governor in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent.

The relief plane was received at Khartoum Airport by the Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, Abbas Fadl Al-Moula, the Advisor at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, Fadil Al-Shamisi, and the UAE Military Attaché to Sudan, Brig. Naser Mohamed Al-Nayadi.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid said in a statement to SUNA at Khartoum Airport that the the UAE has provided several aspects of aid to the flood-affected people in the country, praising the UAE continued cooperation and support to Sudan, a matter that affirms firmness of the relations between the two countries.

He thanked the UAE leadership and Red Crescent for their concern and support to the people affected by the floods and rains in Sudan.

He said that the Commission will distribute all the aid to the affected people as soon as possible.
