Malpass holds press conference

Khartoum,   (SUNA) – The President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass held, Thursday evening a press conference, at Corinthia Hotel in the presence of the WB Deputy President Hafez Ghanem and the Finance Minister, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim.

Malpass said he met during the two-day visit the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk.

He pointed out that he also, visited the registration center of the Poor Families Support Program (Thamrat) and the Corona pandemic Vaccination center.

He urged the government to continue efforts to complete the economic reform process and called on the Sudanese expatriates to invest their money in Sudan to curb the side effects of the economic reform process and achieve the economic grow through provision of youth job opportunities and the rehabilitation of the infrastructures.

The WB Deputy Director, Hafez Ghanem said the Group, during the coming six months will extend 2 billion dollars to attract investments to Sudan, 300 million dollars out of which allocated for the rehabilitation of the infrastructures and other 300 million dollars for the improvement of drinking water and electricity sector through stability of electricity supply and extending support to reform of the humanitarian services sector in the education and health fields
