The Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) has called on the government and the security organs to live up to their role in maintaining the rule of law, protecting the civilians and putting an end to the incidents of insecurity that have been happening repeatedly in a way that affects the security and stability in the country.
The movement expressed in a statement deep regret over the regrettable incidents that happened in Genaina town, capital of West Darfur State, on Saturday and Sunday in which tens of citizens were killed or wounded.
JEM stressed the importance of expediting formation of the joint force for maintaining security and protecting civilians in accordance with the provisions of Juba agreement on peace in Sudan, indicating the implementation of the agreement is key for achieving stability in the region.
The movement called on the citizens to resort to wisdom and self-restraint in addressing the incidents for preserving the social fabric as well as not to give a chance to those who work for sedition.
