Hamdouk and Egyptian Delegation Discuss Joint Projects

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Monday received at the Council of Ministers the visiting Egyptian delegation headed by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Muait, and the Minister of Transport, Dr. Kamel Abdul-Hadi, in the presence of the Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim.

He said that the Sudanese – Egyptian relations are based on the constructive common interests for the two countries, indicating that the visit of the Egyptian delegation to Sudan is a practical response to the recent visit of the Sudanese delegation to Cairo.

He affirmed that these visits shall result in tangible projects and joint work programs between the two countries to become a model for all the African and Arab worlds, praising the Egyptian experience in economic reform.

In a press statement, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, said in a press statement that Egypt’s experience in economic transformation is very useful and important for Sudan because of the similar economic conditions of the two countries, adding that the visit of the Egyptian delegation came at an appropriate time in light of the continuing reform efforts in Sudan in all sectors, especially at the economic field.

“We listened to the Egyptian experience in economic reform in terms of inclusiveness and coordination between the various state organs, and the integration of roles in the field of economic liberalization, a matter which necessitates the exchange of experiences between the two sides”, Jibril said.

The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Muait, has appreciated firmness of the relations between Sudan and Egypt, affirming the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the different economic fields, including the trade exchange and the exchange of visits and experiences, as well as the information about the Egyptian experience in the economic reform field for the sake of enhancing the livelihood of citizens and improving the country’s financial conditions.

The Sudanese Minister of Transport, Engineer Mirghani Musa, has welcomed the visit of the Egyptian delegation which aims for discussing prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of aviation, railways, land transport, and the long-term cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

He described the relations between Sudan and Egypt as witnessing progress in all fields, adding that this visit s considered a new start for joint work between the two countries in the field of transport.
