Hajar: Juba Peace Agreement is Correct Approach to Solve Sudan Problems

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Al-Tahir Hajar, pointed out that the Juba peace agreement for Sudan is the correct approach to address the crises of Sudan.

Addressing Wednesday at Kanon Hotel in Khartoum the Training Session on the International Humanitarian Law, he explained that the Juba peace agreement provided an opportunity for all parties to discuss all the issues of the homeland, stressing that the implementation of the agreement necessitates the unity of the Sudanese people.

The workshop was organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transformation Studies, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross

He said that the main goal of the agreement is to achieve social peace for all Sudanese people.

The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council has appreciated the contribution of the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transformation Studies to organizing several training sessions and workshops in the fields of peace-making and support to the issues of transition, democratic transformation and human rights, indicating that members of the armed struggle movements are in dire need for such sessions.

Hajar said that Sudan had been suffering for long periods from two problems represented in the management of diversity and resources, indicating that these two problems were the reason for holding arms.

He called on participants at the workshop to transfer the knowledge they received in the workshop to the local communities so that the benefit prevails.

The Secretary-General of the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transformation Studies, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidin, stated that the aim of this session is to promote the skills and capabilities of learners in the field of the International Humanitarian Law, indicating that the center works in many fields, including the support to transition, peace-making, combat of the illegal immigration and support to the efforts to control small and heavy weapons, adding that the center has partnerships with a number of regional and international organizations.
