EU ambassadors briefed on economic developments in Sudan

Minister of Finance an Economic Planning Dr. Gibril Ibrahim met at his office today the Ambassadors of the European Union to Sudan and briefed them on the developments of the economic situations in Sudan and the vision of the government for the general budget for next year.

Dr. Ibrahim stated that the government focuses on Sudan’s resources and its internal capabilities, and this does not prevent benefiting from the experiences of countries in moving these capabilities, stressing that cooperation with the world will not be at the cost of Sudan, but a real addition.

The minister said that Sudan’s reintegration in the international community is very important, which is what the government is now working to achieve.

Dr. Ibrahim stressed the importance of the European Union standing beside the Sudanese people and its support for the programs being implemented by the transitional government, such as the families support program (Thamrat) in particular, in addition to their support for education and various fields.

For their part, the ambassadors of the European Union congratulated the transitional government on the economic reforms it implemented during the last period, which help in achieving economic stability for Sudan.

They also affirmed their strong support for the transitional government and addressing the existing challenges.
