Dr. Hamdok: Getting Sudan out of isolation and tackling the economy is our key challenge

Brussels,  (SUNA) – Sudan’s exit from international isolation, its removal from the list of the terrorism-sponsoring states and achieving comprehensive and sustainable peace are the major challenges facing the transitional government, said the Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok. Addressing the Sudanese community in Brussels on Sunday evening, Dr. Hamdok reviewed the key features of the transitional period program aiming at the achievement of a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace as well as the termination of the suffering of citizens in the camps of displacement and refuge. The Prime Minister added that addressing the economic crisis was the second priority of the government, pointing out that if the economic system managed wisely and knowledgeable, it could overcome the crisis, emphasizing that the government will work to rebuild the civil service and achieve social justice. Dr. Hamdok stressed that his government would adopt a balanced foreign policy that takes into account the interest of Sudan and moves away from the axes, pointing out that they are giving health, education and capacity building a top priority besides paying attention to youth and unemployment issues as well as the creation of favourable climate for the return of young people from different immigrants to contribute to the nation building. The Prime Minister pointed to the failure of the people of Sudan in the establishment of an Agreed upon National Project on how to govern Sudan, calling on the Sudanese Community in Brussels to contribute to the constitutional conference, which is to be devoted to the issue of the diversity management.
