Development to Improve Urban System Hajar Lauds Efforts of National Council for Urban Development to Improve Urban System

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Al-Tahir  Abu-Bakr Hajar, has lauded the efforts being done by the National Council for Urban Development in setting policies, programs and future visions to improve the urban system and optimal use for lands.

In his address to the opening sitting of the 14th session of the National Council for Urban Development Wednesday at Friendship Hall, Hajar stressed the necessity of setting policies and drawing up strategic projects to raise and enhance the urban planning and to organize cities to provide a decent life for Sudanese citizens.

The TSC member affirmed the importance of setting plans and urban development programs in different states of Sudan, and not neglect the refuges issues.

He pledged to resolve all the obstacles and challenges that face implementing plans, programs and development projects in infrastructural field.

Hajar urged the council’s partners to support the outcome of the session and to work efficiently to implement it on the ground, besides giving priority for national urban projects and preparing maps for the states’ cities.

TSC member affirmed on the importance of setting laws and regulations to organize real estate and contracting work, in addition to amendment the laws of land planning, building and construction to cope with the progress achieved in the planning field and the sustainable development goals.

The minister of Urban Development, Roads and Bridges, affirmed the commitment of his ministry to continue work according to outcome of the different sessions of the council and to formulate policies and legislations that organize the use of lands and displacement, pointing to the importance of the states’ concern with setting maps for cities.
