Al-Burhan Meets Southern Mediation Delegation , Receives Message from Salva Kiir

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, received in his office Wednesday a delegation of South Sudan mediation headed by the Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs, Tut Gulwak, and got informed on progress of the negotiations between the delegations of the government and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) – North, led by Abdul-Aziz Al-Hillu.

Gen. Al-Burhan has praised the great efforts exerted by the Republic of South Sudan in bringing the views closer, and sponsoring the negotiation process and its full support for the achievement of peace and stability in Sudan.

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council promised to direct the concerned bodies to study the border problems and to solve all the obstacles related to oil and its crossing to the Sudanese territory, stressing that development and peace in the two countries are indivisible.

The head of the southern mediation explained that the delegation handed the President of the Sovereignty Council a message from President Salva Kiir Mayardit relating to the issues of border issues between the two countries and the oil sector, and briefed him on the progress of the negotiation process, which is progressing well and in an optimistic atmosphere to reach a complete agreement.
