Al-Burhan briefed on MOU signed between Sudan and Yemen

The President of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, was briefed on the results of joint political efforts and the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed yesterday between the Sudanese and Yemeni ministries of foreign affairs.

This came when the President of the Sovereignty Council received in his office today the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, in the presence of the acting Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq.

Al-Burhan praised the advanced level of bilateral relations between the two countries, calling for boosting them further.

He affirmed Sudan’s keenness to support Yemen to promote stability and peace and the return of legitimacy.

For his part, the Yemeni Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of President of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Mohamed al-Alimi, stressing Yemen’s support for efforts to achieve national consensus, leading to formation of a transitional government that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

The Yemeni Foreign Minister noted that he briefed the President of the Sovereignty Council on the outcome of his visit to Khartoum, which led to signing of a memorandum of understanding for political consultation in order to strengthen and develop the relations between the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
