The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Abdul- Fattah Al-Burhan, has saluted the Sudanese people on the occasion of the anniversary of the April 1985 Uprising, affirming that the country is steadily progressing to complete the path drawn by the martyrs and revolutionaries in the year 2019.

In a speech he directed Thursday to the Sudanese people on the occasion of the anniversary of the April 1985 Uprising, he stressed the move forward towards establishing a new era based on freedom, peace and justice.

He pointed out that the country is advancing steadily on the same path drawn by the martyrs, and continued by the revolutionaries in the year 2019, sacrificing their most valuable things, striving for a radical change for the oppressive and tyrannical patterns of government and determined to establish a new era based on the goals freedom, peace and justice.

He emphasized the keenness to completion of the political process that is taking place now at the required speed, attributing the postponement that accompanied the timing of the signing of the political agreement to the intention of putting in place solid frameworks that maintain the momentum and vigor of the revolution. Gen. Al-Burhan said that the parties are now working hard to complete the discussion on the remaining issues.

He affirmed that the revolution will remain in the conscience of the people, adding that “the Sudanese people will seek glory until eternity preserves a name and a memory for them”.
