Foreign Minister, Dr.. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, met in her office today, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director General of the African Risk Reduction Agency, Ibrahima Sheikh Diong and his accompanying delegation.
The UN official briefed the minister on the main objectives and assignments of the agency.
The minister, on her part, described the tasks and the assignments of the agency as ambitious, stressing the necessity for coordination with the concerned regional and international organizations in this connection.
Dr. Mariam briefed Diong on the efforts being exerted by Sudan to ward off the impact of the climate change and other related issues.
