Cooperation between Sudan and Poland in Urban Development Discussed

The Minister of Urban Development, Roads and Bridges, Abdalla Yahia, said that still there are areas in Sudan that are living isolated from the rest of Sudan because of the war.

He stressed that these areas are in urgent need of large projects of housing and roads in order to link production areas with export areas.

This came when he received in his office Monday, the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Poland for Economic and Security Affairs, Mr. Jacob Govushevsky, who is visiting Sudan to identify its needs for urban development, roads and bridges.

The Minister thanked the Advisor for his visit to Sudan and appreciated firmness of the relations between Sudan and Poland, praising the contributions extended by Poland to Sudan, especially the humanitarian aid provided by Poland through their organizations and bodies to the displacement and refugees camps.

The minister has given a briefing on the challenges facing the Ministry of Urban Development, Roads and Bridges, calling for benefiting from the good relations between Sudan and Poland for serving the interests of the peoples in the two countries through the exchange of experiences.

On his part, the Polish advisor said that the Polish private sector will participate in the establishment of infrastructural projects in Sudan. He invited the minister to visit Poland to benefit from its experiences in the field of building the country after wars.

He also presented an initiative to organize an economic conference to discuss the means for achieving Sudan renaissance and road construction.
