State of Emergency in West Kordofan Extended for Three Months

The Wali (governor) of West Kordofan, Muttasim Abdul-Salam Awad, has announced extending the state of emergency, which was declared last month for more three months.

He said when he chaired a meeting of the state’s government in Al-Foula city on Monday that the security conditions that the state is witnessing necessitated renewal of the state of emergency in the state.

The Wali (governor) pointed out that his government’s tasks are based on good management, achieving security and stability and providing a decent life for citizens and services and development in all fields.

The Wali (governor) affirmed that he will sit with the officials in all ministries to learn about the planned projects, the obstacles facing the performance, the implementation and financing position, stressing that the ministries’ structures will be reviewed and enhanced to help leading balanced development in the state.

He directed the executive directors and heads of the local security committees to focus on the security and reactivating the emergency decisively and applying the law against all those who disturb the peace and security of the citizens.

He also directed the executives to be present in their localities and not to leave them except after approval from the General Secretariat of the state’s Government, and to submit detailed reports on the performance of the localities.
