Sovereignty Council Affirms Incorrectness of News Attributed to Jad-Karim

Khartoum,   (SUNA) – The Secretariat General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council has affirmed the incorrectness of the news circulated through the media and social networking sites, attributed to Council member Yousif Jad-Karim, regarding unprecedented financial conditions that the country is going through, and the inability of the state to provide salaries for the month of May, and the efforts  to provide cash within a few days.

The Secretariat General indicated in a press circular on Saturday that this information contained in the news is within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, but not the Sovereignty Council, therefore, the news affirmed ignorance of its promoters of the competencies and powers of state institutions, in addition to their lack of the simplest elements of the journalistic editing and ethics of the profession.

The Secretariat General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council hoped that the media and social media will verify accuracy, stick to credibility and professionalism when publishing and circulating news, and abide by optimal use of social media, for the interest of the country and its people.
