RSF: No pension referrals, we call on media not to get carried away by rumors

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has affirmed that they did not make any pension referrals, as was circulated in the social media and some electronic websites, despite the fact that promotion to higher ranks and referral to pension is a routine work carried out by the regular forces in accordance with the law.

In a press release today, the RSF called on all media outlets not to be drawn into false rumors spread through social media, saying that their doors are open to obtain real information, and that they will work to legally pursue the promoters of such rumors.

The press release said social media and some electronic websites circulated misleading rumors alleging that the RSF had retired five thousand officers, including Major General Security Nur-Eddin Abdel-Wahab.

The press release stressed that the Rapid Support Forces have not made any pension referrals as was circulated by those circles, pointing out that Major General Nur-Eddin Abdel-Wahab was seconded by the General Intelligence Service to the RSF, and his seconding was terminated more than a year ago, and therefore there is no connection of RSF with

whether or not he was retired.

There are some parties that have been working to weave lies and promote them on social media for the purpose of stirring public opinion and inciting against the RSF and their leadership for known purposes, the release said.
