Negotiations between Delegations of Government and SPLM – North Resumed in Juba

The negotiations between the delegations of the government, headed by the member of the Transitional Sovereignty Movement, Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North, led by Abdul-Aziz Al-Hillu, were resumed on Wednesday at Palm Africa Hotel in Juba, in the presence of the rapporteur of the southern mediation, Dr. Dhio Mattok, the peace partners, stake-holders, UNITAMS and representatives of the international and regional communities.

The negotiations began in Juba on May 26, when the government delegation received in the first session the draft of the framework agreement through southern mediation for the purpose of studying it, and then the government delegation responded to the draft within four days.

The mediation delegation handed over the government response to the SPLM – North in the negotiating session on May 31.

It is to be noted that the session of Wednesday will review the draft framework agreement and the two parties’ comments on the draft.
