Minister: Arrangements to amend Investment Act to attract more investments

– Acting Minister of Investment Ehlam Mahdi Sabeel has welcomed Indian investments in Sudan, stressing the government’s keenness to overcome all obstacles facing investments in the country.

The minister indicated in a statement to SUNA that convening of the “Seminar to Strengthen Business Partnership between India and Sudan is a step in the framework of advancing and strengthening partnership, cooperation and exchange between Khartoum and New Delhi,” referring to Indian projects and investments in the fields of agriculture, energy and small industries.

The Minister announced arrangements to amend the Investment Act during the next phase to keep pace with global and regional developments, attract investment and establish border free zones that link neighboring African countries.

The minister referred to the desire of many countries to invest in Sudan, noting that the government’s plan is to focus on food security, noting that despite the conditions the country is going through, the investment movement continues, and there are many requests and granting of licenses.
