Mennawi Affirms Role of Native Administration for Achieving Peaceful Coexistence

The Governor of Darfur Region, Menni Arko Mennawi, has affirmed importance of the native administration’s role in keeping security and stability in the region.

This came during his meeting Wednesday in Genaina city, the capital of West Darfur State, with leaders of the native administration in the state.

Mennawi announced a plan to hold a conference for the native administration in Darfur in the coming period to discuss the issues and role of the native administration in the past, present and future, indicating that he assigned his deputy, Mohamed Issa Elaiu, to prepare for the conference, pointing to a program for sending teams and convoys to preach with peace and providing educational programs to the farmers and nomads to avoid confrontation between them in the rainy season.

The Governor of the Darfur Region has expressed his regret over the repeated incidents in West Darfur, pointing to the importance of imposing the prestige of the state and stopping the bloodshed and fighting.

The Sultan of  Dar Massalit and head of the native administration in the state, Saad Abdul-Rahman Bahr-Eddin, affirmed the determination of the native administration to boost implementation of programs and policies in the Darfur region for strengthening the security and stability and providing

basic services to the citizens, stressing importance of the intervention of the Federal authorities to stop conflicts.
