Lecture about UAE’s experiment in empowering women

– Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Khartoum organized  virtually yesterday a lecture  under the title” Transferring  UAE’s Experiment in Empowering  Women in Area of Peace”.

The lecture was given by Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakheet , UAE Ambassador to Sudan, Hamad Mohamed Al-Gunaibi, Minister of Social Development of  Khartoum State, Dr Siddiq Freeni  and a number of woman entrepreneurs.

UAE ambassador Al-Gunaibi  indicated to remarkable progress the UnitedArab Emirates  made in agenda of women, peace  and security , especially after the success of initiative of H. H. Sheika Fatima Bint Mubarak  on empowering women  in areas of  peace and security.

Ambassador Al-Gunaibi pointed out that the UAE organized during current September  8-10 International Conference on Women, Peace and  Security in Abu Dhabi under auspices of  H.H. Sheika Fatima Bint Mubarak  during which achievements and challenges  related to UN Security Council’s resolution (1325) on women , peace and security, which was unanimously approved in 2000 , were reviewed

Minister of Social

Development, Ahmed Adam Bakheet, for his part,  commended  the UAE’s experiment in empowering women and girls and the UAE considerable support  for women in  the sisterly and friendly countries , stressing his Ministry’s concern with  issues of women.

He said that they knew the UAE’s experiment  in empowering women  through the International Conference on Women, Peace and Security  which was  held in Abu Dhabi, saying  the women in UAE have made  noticeable achievements in various  domains.

The Minister lauded the UAE experiment in  empowering women in  military sector.
