Khartoum,  (SUNA) – The higher committee for following up implementation of the Juba peace agreement held its first meeting Wednesday at the Republican Palace, headed by the First Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereign Council and chairman of the committee, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.

In a press statement, the Chairman of the Peace Commission, Prof. Suleiman Al-Debello, said that the meeting reviewed the implementation stages of the agreement, indicating that a committee was formed to rearrange the peace agreement implementation matrix and to form a secretariat and another committee to deal with a number of issues in the different tracks.

He described the peace agreement as important, explaining that the committee represents the executive body to follow up the implementation of the Juba peace agreement and to address the challenges facing it.
