Economist urges benefiting from Saudi initiative for environment conservation

– Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Commercial Studies at Sudan University of Science and Technology Abdul-Azim Al-Mahal has called for benefiting from  the initiative of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salaman, which aims to plant 50 billion trees, including ten billion trees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 40 billion trees in the Arab region.

Prof. Al-Mahal pointed out in a statement to SUNA to the great benefits that can accrue to Sudan from implementing this initiative, which include combating environmental pollution, drought and desertification in addition to supporting the agricultural work in Sudan in general.

He enumerated the vast natural resources that Sudan enjoys, including over 200 million acres of arable lands and abundant water from various sources.
