Cabinet affirms concern over issues of East, West Korsdofan and justice file٧

The Council of Ministers chaired by the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk held its regular meeting and discussed the situations in the Eastern part of the country as it considered a top national priority.

The meeting also tackled the situations in West Kordofan State in the light of the regrettable conflict between the components of the state where a government delegation was formed to visit the state soonest to inspect the security, political and social situations there.

The ministers received a report of a group of evidence on the involvement of the elements of the defunct regime in instigating the tribal unrests in some parts of the country.

The cabinet unanimously passed a bill to join the Rome Statue of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for 1998.

The Council also, agreed ion Sudan’s joining to the charter establishing the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden for the year 2001, in preparation for the ratification of both agreements as soon as possible through the joint meeting of the Sovereignty Council and the Ministers (the Transitional Legislative Authority).

The Cabinet has directed the concerned circles to speed up the procedures concerning the listing of the government’s companies ( civil and military) prior to strengthening the control of the Finance Ministry on the public money.

The ministers deliberated on the file of justice in its comprehensive sense, and the best ways in which the Council of Ministers can contribute to moving it forward with the rest of the institutions and authorities of the transitional period.
