Arab – China Summit in Riyadh Calls for Strengthening Cooperation

The Arab – China Summit has stressed at the conclusion of its work on Friday evening in the Saudi capital, Riyadhthe strengthening of the cooperation and partnership between -Arab countries, and emphsized respect for the sovereignty of states refrain from using or threatening to use force and respect to the principle of good neighborliness.

The final statement of the summit emphasized the importance of the Palestinian cause in the Middle East, calling for finding a just and lasting solution to it on the basis of the two-state solution.  The summit also affirmed its support for efforts to find a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis in a way that guarantees the fundamental interests of all parties.

The Arab – China Summit has affirmed support for efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, and called for strengthening efforts to combat terrorism and condemn it in all its forms and motives.

The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, had said in a joint press conference with Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul-Gheit, at the conclusion of the Arab  – China  and Arab  Gulf summits, that the summits held in Riyadh represented a starting point for the relations between the region and China.

He said that Saudi Arabia have strategic partnership with China a matter that opens up broader areas for economic cooperation, adding that Saudi Arabia also have strategic partnerships with the United States, India, China and Germany, indicating that the Kingdom’s economy is growing rapidly and it needs all partners and must be open to cooperation with everyone.
