Mohamed  Hamdan Daglo, TSC member, Al-Taher  Hajar  and representatives of political and professional forces  and the armed struggle movements  signatory to  the Framework Agreement  and  the political process facilitator, the trilateral mechanism, which consists of UNITAMS, AU and IGAD.

The draft final agreement was handed over during the meeting to parties to the political process and that the meeting also reviewed efforts of the committee assigned to contact the signatories and non-signatories to the Framework Agreement.

The political process official spokesman, Engineer Khalid Omar  said in a press statement  that the meeting officially handed over the initial  draft of the final agreement, which consists of six parts, including the Framework Agreement-based final political agreement, in addition to some details related to the structures of the civil transitional authority, and five other parts which  are protocols on  the five issues that were agreed to be discussed in a broader manner, adding  that  the discussion ended in four of them  through a number  of workshops and conferences which have commenced  on January 9 and are still going on.

. The spokesman for the political process indicated that the drafting committee relied, in drafting the final agreement, on compiling outcomes of the workshops and conferences on the four issues and converting them from the language of recommendations into a political agreement.

On issue of security and military reform, Eng. Omar explained that there is an agreed paper regarding the fifth issue, which is the paper of principles and foundations, as it was approved as an initial draft, provided that this paper is  to be completed

based on  outcomes of the workshop that began  Sunday  morning.

He added that the parties agreed to complete the draft final agreement on March 29, in order to meet the agreed timing for the final signing of the agreement.

Regarding efforts to contact the non-signatory parties, he explained that there is a contact committee which  was formed in the previous meeting, and sat with these parties, indicating that there are huge efforts to address some issues that prevented them from being part of the final agreement.

Eng. Omar pointed out that the committee would continue its efforts with the non-signatory parties by meeting them Monday  and handing over to them the draft final agreement for making   their observations over it.
