US Assistant Secretary of State: We Support Efforts to Achieve Reconciliations in W. Darfur

The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Molly Phee, announced her support and encouragement for  efforts being  exerted by the Vice- President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council(TSC), Gen, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo and the TSC members, Dr. Al-Hadi Idriss and Al-Tahir Hajar to hold reconciliations among tribal components in Darfur, in addition to help  the voluntary return for displaced persons, besides  mobilizing humanitarian assistance and providing the necessary  needs.

On the official Twitter account  of the African Affairs Office, Phee said that she has encouraged the initiative of Darfur’s leaders in West Darfur to support the local reconciliations, the voluntary return for displaced people, increasing of the country protection for civilians and  mobilizing  resources to help  victims of disputes .

Molly Phee described the graduation of the security and civilian protection  force as an important step to protect civilians, adding that “we stand alongside Darfur’s’ people and we are committed to help them to achieve sustainable peace as well as  full participation in the democratic transition in Sudan”.
