TSC Member calls for encouraging micro and small industries

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Mohamed Hassan Al-Taishi has stressed importance of adoption of financing policies to encourage micro and small industries.

The Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council was addressing the opening session of Micro and Small Industries Forum at the Friendship Hall here today, organized by the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with the Union of Small and Handicraft Industries Chambers on the occasion of International Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Al-Taishi explained that development of small industries requires the state to adopt policy of developing technical and technological education as one of the pillars of small and handicraft industries, pointing to the need to reform financing policies by adopting incentives for owners of small industries.

On his part, Minister of Industry Ibrahim Al-Sheikh affirmed his ministry’s keenness on boosting small industries as they are the driving power of industry in Sudan, due to the wide social base of craftsmen and innovators it absorbs, in addition to its reasonable cost.

He called for providing incentives to micro and small industries to help them grow and contribute to the national income.

On her part, the Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Entisar Al-Zain Saghiroun, stressed the importance of encouraging small industries, noting that the ministry endeavors to establish technological universities in all states of Sudan and develop the community development colleges to promote small industries.
