Troika Countries affirm support to transitional government

The envoys of the Troika Countries have affirmed their support to the transitional government of the Sudan as they expressed appreciation for the efforts that aim at realizing comprehensive peace in the country.

This came when the envoys of the Troika Countries met the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, at her office today, where they affirmed that their signatures as guarantors to Juba agreement on peace in Sudan stem from their keenness on supporting Sudan to overcome challenges a matter that contributes to enhancing implementation of the peace agreement.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, on her part, welcomed the envoys, affirming keenness of the Sudan on overcoming all challenges to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement paving the way for development and stability, calling on the Troika Countries to continue their support to Sudan during this crucial stage in its history.

It is noteworthy that the Troika Countries, by signing as witnesses to Juba Peace agreement on Sudan, would join the monitoring and evaluation mechanism of the agreement that comprises the government of Sudan, parties to the peace agreement, the Republic of South Sudan besides other countries who signed as witnesses or guarantors of the agreement.
