The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Ltd. completed yesterday procedures for selling more than 324 kilograms of 21 karat gold to the Central Bank of Sudan. The Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mubarak Abdul-Rahman Ardol, said that the value of the sale is equivalent to $17 million, indicating that the company would use these amounts to pay monthly revenues for the benefit of the mineral sector’s partners, led by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. Meanwhile, Director of the Financial Department of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited Mahmoud Siral-Khatim said that the company is continuing to distribute shares of mining revenues to the states, localities and stakeholders from the local communities hosting mining activities in the various states of Sudan, within the framework of commitment and implementation of social responsibility projects.

– Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mubarak, met today in her office in the Republican Palace with a delegation of Union of Arab Exporters and Importers, headed by Dr. Amal Hassan Zaki.

The meeting touched upon issues of imports and exports in the Arab world, especially since the union is affiliated with the League of Arab States.

Dr. Amal Hassan Zaki, head of the union, said in a press statement that the meeting touched on the projects that the union intends to implement in the Blue Nile region, in addition to the development projects that the union will sign today with North Darfur state.

On her part, Ms. Shaza Omer Sharif, a member of the union, explained that the meeting discussed issues related to economic and human development, and how to rehabilitate and develop the Gezira Scheme in a way that contributes to increasing its productivity, in addition to discussing a number of projects in the Blue Nile and Darfur regions.
