Sudan welcomes the decision to classify the Houthi group as terrorist

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the decision issued by the UN Security Council regarding the classification of the Houthi militia as a terrorist group, in addition to expanding the ban on the delivery of weapons to Yemen, and condemning the attacks launched by the Houthi group against civilians and civilian facilities in each of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The ministry said in statement issued, today, expressed its aspiration that this decision would contribute to cessation of hostilities and widespread violations committed by the Houthi militia, and its threat to the security and safety of navigation in the Red Sea, as well as facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians.

The Ministry reiterated its support for efforts to peacefully resolve the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the agreed references and United Nations resolutions in this regard in a manner that preserves Yemen’s unity and sovereignty.
