Sudan and WB Discuss funding infrastructure projects

Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk met, at his office, Monday, the World Bank delegation headed by the bank’s Vice-President, Hafez Ghanem in the presence of the Minister of Finance Minister, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim.

The WB official expressed pleasure over meeting Dr. Hamdouk following the great success of the Pars Conference on Sudan which he described as “ was very important”.

“The international community appreciates the government’s efforts for improvement of economy, fighting poverty and all the other economic reforms” He stressed.

He added that the meeting focused on the work of the WB in Sudan and the importance of the infrastructure and investment projects, besides education, health and other government projects.

He underlined that the World Bank had determined that, during the next twelve months, it would finance $ 2 billion- infrastructure projects in the country, in addition to projects to help the displaced and returnees.
