– The Government of the Republic of Sudan and the Government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis signed on Thursday, February 24 in New York a joint statement regarding the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The joint statement was signed by the Government of Sudan, Counselor Ammar Mohamed Mahmoud., Chargé d’Affaires at the Sudan Mission to the United Nations in New York, and for the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ian MacDonald Liburd.

The signing of the joint statement comes as a desire by the two countries to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation in various fields, on the basis of the purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and the rules of international law, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Meanwhile, the two governments signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visas between the two countries, to allow citizens of the two countries to travel to the other country without the need to obtain a prior visa.

Relations.

It is worth noting that Sudan and Saint Kitts and Nevis share common interests in multilateral frameworks, namely the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Group of 77 and China.
