Return of Sudanese Citizens who Joined ISIS in Syria

Sudan was able to restore a number of Sudanese citizens (two women and three children) out Sudanese families who previously joined the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria, representing a first batch of nationals currently detained in northern Syria, thanks to efforts exerted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sudan diplomatic mission in Damascus and other concerned organs.

It is to be noted that the restoration of this first batch came as a result of continuous efforts made by the government of Sudan over several years, with the support and backing from the brothers in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The government of Sudan affirmed that it will continue its efforts to return all Sudanese detained in northern Syria to the homeland.
