Ministry of Trade: Efforts Exerted to Reactivate Border Trade

The Ministry of Trade and Supply affirmed that efforts are being exerted to reactivate the border trade with the neighboring countries for maximizing the social, political and security benefits.

In a statement to SUNA ,the General Director of the Border Trade at the Ministry of Trade and Supply, Al-Numan Abdalla Al-Tayeb, has pointed to the  coordination  achieved to organize the trade border with the Sudanese border states, revealing the singing agreements by the Northern State, and West, North and Central Darfur States to carry out border trade with the neighboring countries.

The General Director referred to formation of a committee which is composed of concerned parties to review regulations pertinent to organizing border trade in the country, adding that the committee has come out with recommendations, top of which is to urge the border states to abide by implementing the regulations related to organization of the border trade.

He indicated that the recommendations included convocation of a plenary meeting by the concerned organs to deliberate about ways to push forward the trade border and to review the regulations in this regard.He pointed to a coordination and contacts with Darfur states through the region’s government concerning development of the border trade.
